As the South West regional manager I offer organisational development support to community and voluntary sector organisations across the South West region and Wales.

If you'd like to discuss how we can support the work of your organisation please contact me by email dave@bassac.org.uk or give me a call on 07825 175 867.

The region I look after

The South West is the largest English region, occupying approximately one fifth of England’s land area, with a population of around 5 million people. Across the region over half of the population lives in rural areas, while over 60 per cent are employed within the urban centres. There is increasing conflict across the region between economic growth and development and the natural and historic environment, with more and more urbanisation of rural areas.

The development of the network in Wales is growing with members highly interested in our work around collaboration and environmental enhancements to their buildings. My colleague Jan Bottle and I provide dedicated support to the many social action centres across Wales.

Working in partnership

Much of my work is completed in partnership with my colleagues from the Community Alliance (the Development Trusts Association and Community Matters). We work to provide a range of support from seminars and workshops to individual visits to help members develop and sustain themselves (both financially and environmentally).

About me

I am married with three children, unfortunately none of whom follow the only side on the south coast - Play up Pompey!! Much of my time both with and away from bassac is spent trying to ‘live more lightly’ and encouraging others to do so. So if you are interested in compost toilets or cob buildings feel free to call.
