bassac is part of a partnership, Kindle, that has published a free resource: ‘Commissioning and the Community Sector’.
It aims to help community sector organisations better understand how local authority commissioners are working to improve outcomes for children, young people and families, and how they can make themselves “commissioning ready”.
Kindle has worked with the Commissioning Support Programme to produce this document. A range of resources and an online community of practice can also be found on their website. You can also share your experiences of being commissioned by local authorities and seek guidance about how commissioning is working.
Kindle is a strategic partnership that brings together six key national umbrella organisations that aim to influence the children and young people's policy and practice agendas. They do this both nationally and through their members locally, in order to ensure that the community sector are able to play their full role in the local planning and delivery of services for children and young people. bassac is a member alongside Community Matters, ACRE, Children England, NAVCA and NCVYS.
More information can be found on the Commissioning and the Community Sector website.
