What happened at bassac conference 2010?

bassac’s annual conference 2010 took place on 3 and 4 March in Manchester.

Stand and Deliver: people power and politics was an ambitious event which stimulated lively debate. Participants explored the ways in which local councillors and community groups can transform politics in their neighbourhoods.

bassac members attended as well as representatives from a wide range of voluntary and community organisations, and local and regional government.

Speakers included Angela Smith MP, Minister for the Third Sector and Peter Facey of Unlock Democracy. The main sessions on Thursday were chaired by Peter Hetherington from The Guardian.
