Collaborate for Commissioning involved several discrete projects, each working with voluntary and community organisations of different shapes and sizes, exploring various models of collaborating for commissioning.
There were four distinct elements. During the delivery of those projects, we realised that there was considerable overlap between the issues emerging from each, and in the resources and support being identified as useful.
A selection of checklists, advice, models and information designed to make the process of collaborating for commissioning more effective. From assessing if you are ready, to what if it all goes wrong to delivery, the resources you will find throughout this section of the website are a reflection of the support needs identified by the stakeholders in the other three projects.
Developed, in partnership with ACEVO, this part of the project explored how national voluntary organisations and community anchor organisations could work together in partnership to bid for and deliver commissioned services more effectively. You can read the National - Local partnerships seminar report below.
How community anchors can work with/broker work for smaller local frontline organisations. Exploring the models by which larger community organisations can act as a 'broker' in commissioning arrangements and supporting the capacity building of smaller organisations.
Exploring the issues and experience of larger community based organisations in respect to co-design of commissioned services.
Collaboration for Commissioning was funded by the NPTSC...
The National Programme for Third Sector Commissioning is hosted by the IDeA on behalf of the Office of the Third Sector. The programme's vision is to engender "better public outcomes for individuals and communities, which yield efficiency gains and community benefits, through smarter, more effective and innovative commissioning, and optimal involvement of the third sector in public service design, improvement and delivery and holding the public sector to account."
A key outcome of the NPTSC is improved third-sector bidding capacity, particularly among smaller organisations. bassac's Collaborate for Commissioning helps to meet this outcome.
