Our work

bassac is working to develop the social, economic and environmental sustainability of organisations. We support our members to help make their local communities more sustainable.

We’ve built up a wide range of knowledge and expertise through our involvement in Every Action Counts. This work helped community groups make their day to day work more environmentally sustainable. Through our Shared Energy project bassac members assessed the possible effects of climate change on their work.

bassac’s regional team are supporting our members to apply for Communitybuilders investment in their buildings. We’ve also created a Buildings network for organisations in London to share advice about managing and developing their buildings.

Using the Home Office’s Safer Homes funding we’ve been supporting our members and other community organisations to secure the homes of vulnerable people and increase community wellbeing.

bassac has signed up to the Third Sector Declaration on climate change and has been a member of the joint ministerial and third sector taskforce on climate change, the environment and sustainable development.
