bassac leads the new National Support Service Collaboration work stream
bassac today (April 1) starts a major three-year programme to expand collaborative working support for third sector organisations across England.
This programme has nearly £2 million funding from Capacitybuilders, and is one of nine workstreams that build on the previous work of the National Hubs.
Ben Hughes, chief executive of bassac, the lead partner for the workstream, said: “We are thrilled to be working with our partners to deliver this new service for the community and voluntary sector. This dynamic package of community sector, research and rural organisations will bring together national, local and regional experience on collaborative working in a unique way.”
Collaboration means supporting voluntary and community sector organisations wishing to work together and with other sectors to:
The NSS Collaboration workstream will support and facilitate collaborative working through the development of networks, partnerships, clusters and consortia. It brings together the voluntary and community sector, as well as the public and private sectors.
Frontline voluntary and community sector organisations will be benefit from working collaboratively through accessing information, advice, capacity building and evidence-based practice.
bassac will deliver activities in the following areas over the next three years, in collaboration with its strategic partners ACRE, CFN, IVAR and CES:
1. Collection, collation and dissemination of good practice in collaborative working
2. Developing a national evidence base for collaborative working
3. Delivering a capacity building programme of training to the voluntary community sector
4. Facilitating collaborative working through the establishment of clusters
