Opportunities for Volunteering (OfV) grants
bassac is one of 16 national charities that distribute OfV grants on behalf of the Department of Health. We have awarded four of our members grants from April 2007 to March 2010.
From East Bristol to West Leeds, the projects offer our members exciting opportunities to engage volunteers in new and innovative ways.
Our new awards will bring fresh approaches and real experience of what works to create new ways for people to offer support to each other. This has been a key part of the Opportunities for Volunteering (OfV) Scheme.
Four member projects were chosen from 14 applications, and are being funded with a total of £308,400 for three years.

Opportunities for Volunteering (OfV) is a Department of Health initiative which provides grants to local health and social care organisations in England. OfV grants aim to enable organisations to involve volunteers in the delivery of their services.
Opportunities for Volunteering 2009-10
The Department of Health will shortly be advertising an OFV grant scheme for 2009-10. Information on how to apply, including the funding priorities, criteria for assessment and terms & conditions, will be available later in the year.
